DC Comics Shoes by Converse are Effing Brilliant!
DC Comics Shoes from Converse are out, on sale, and giving me a lady boner
Converse has done a handful of DC Comics editions of shoes over the past few years. Their current collection, on sale at half off no less, includes DC Comics shoes featuring Superman, Batman, The Joker, and Robin. There are a variety of sizes on sale from infant to adult, and I’m buying all of them. For myself.
Head on over to their site and use code GMA50 to get the killer discount, or if you’re one of those sociable freaks who likes people, call at 1-888-792-3307 and somebody will–gulp!–talk to you. I’m not sure how long this sale will last, so if you’ve been wanting to stock up on shoes with your favorite comic characters, move fast! Also, through August 29th, you can get free shipping, making this an even better deal.

Frank Miller’s Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Trailer!
Frank Miller’s Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, FINALLY in Movie Form!
Get More: MTV Shows
While Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises continues tearing it up in theaters, another vision–those in the know would say a superior vision–of Batman’s final days is under production for release in September. For Batman fans, this book is practically legendary: Frank Miller’s Batman: The Dark Knight Returns. Originally released in 1986, the four part comic series, later released as a trade paperback/graphic novel, begins 10 years after Bruce Wayne has retired from his tenure as Batman. As Gotham descends into anarchy, a by-product of the federal government’s criminalization of costumed heroes, Bruce finally cracks and returns to don the cape and cowl for one final front in the war to put fear into the hearts of real criminals.
The trailer was released today by MTV and highlights the first half of the epic, coming in September!
I can’t wait–this is the way a truly great Batman finale is written!

Batman’s Wanted Poster from Dark Knight Rises
Batman Is Still A Fugitive Criminal 8 Years Later
So apparently, there’s a new poster going around showing Batman as a wanted fugitive. Following the events of the much lauded Batman film “The Dark Knight,” this is of course no surprise. What IS surprising, though, is that so many sites are calling this a piece of “viral marketing,” in spite of the fact that it really doesn’t fit the modis operandi of that technique.
Still, it’s interesting and good to see that consequences appear to be very much in effect in Batman’s latest outing, but it really does bring up a few questions, including how he’s managed to evade capture for 8 years (did he retire? Did he become more shadowy? What’s the story?).
The film’s July 20th release really can’t come soon enough. In the meantime, it looks like we’ll have to make do with that other superhero epic: Joss Whedon’s The Avengers, which has apparently made back most, if not all, of its production costs already thanks to huge overseas successes.
Oh, but Batman, why can’t you have opened first?!
