Horizon: Zero Dawn First (Public) Look

Adventure Awaits In Sony’s Horizon

Sony released a gameplay-walkthrough video of Horizon: Zero Dawn, for those who weren’t lucky enough to get the “behind closed doors” preview at E3. The video shows off not just the game’s gorgeous art style and graphics, as expected. But it also shows off some gameplay elements and the HUD. Perhaps the most interesting part of the HUD is that it’s usually hidden for the most part.

There’s a cool mechanism for setting traps to capture some of the game’s creatures (all of which appear to be robotic), which is important because you’ll have to scavenge machine parts from them in order to build weapons and gear, as well as sell them to make money. One really interesting feature is how destructible some of the creatures are. For example, one huge creature has “disk launchers”, rail guns and lasers, which you can knock off and use yourself to kick its ass. Pretty neat mechanic!

Hopefully we’ll see more of this game soon. It’s already looking fantastic, and if Sony and its 3rd parties can achieve this scale of game en masse, 2016 should be one hell of a good year for Playstation 4 gamers.

Are you looking forward to Horizon? Let us know in the comments!
