Tesla Coils Concerto

The Nerdiest Music Ever – Brought to You by Nikola Tesla

Ever see Tesla coils as a kid?  The first time I saw one was at the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles.  We went a few times when I was a kid.  (Okay, and a few more as an adult.) I loved watching the coil light up, eventually lighting the bright Telsa Coil sign in front.  I never thought about the fact they could make music when put in pairs.  Well, until now.

A few days ago, io9 posted a great compilation of songs played on Tesla coils.  The combination of light show and electronica make each of the clips posted absolutely amazing.  Head over and take a listen, maybe segue it into one of those, “Hey kids, let’s learn about science!” afternoons.
