Halo 5 Beta Coming Your Way This Fall!
As promised earlier, we have some video footage! Plus, Halo 5 Beta will ship with the Master Chief Collection!
The Halo Master Chief Collection, due out this November 11, will bring along a few extras on disc. Not only will we get Ridley Scott and Sergio Mimica-Gezzan’s Halo: Nightfall, we’ll but we’ll be grated access to Halo 5 Multiplayer beta. This will last until the release of the full version, due out sometime next year.
All the games in the Master Chief Collection will sport upgraded graphics, including higher detailed models, textures and resolution. Framerates should hold steady at a consistent 60FPS. Like the Halo: Anniversary game on Xbox 360, players will be able to toggle between the old and new graphics engines at will in order to see the old versus thew new with little or no delay.
What gamers shouldn’t expect, though, is any change to the core gameplay mechanics of any of the games. Each game introduced new paradigms to the weapons and actions Master Chief could take while battling his foes. These will not be retrofitted onto older games in the series. Instead, 343 Games has opted to leave the earlier games in the series as pure as possible from a gameplay perspective. This might upset some fans, but it’ll certainly make the purists happy. Sadly, there’s really no way to please everyone, but it’s good to see 343 and Microsoft trying to find a happy medium by upgrading the visuals and porting the classics to our modern systems.
