Neat trailer for Alien: Isolation
Forget what you may know of SEGA’s previous Alien attempt with Colonial Marines, just burn those memories with the nearest flamethrower you can find, as now there’s Alien: Isolation.
Isolation is Creative Assembly’s homage to the first Alien film, taking place after it. It’s a proper horror/survival game, much like Amnesia or, if you’re old like me, Enemy Zero.
You play as Amanda Ripley, Ellen Ripley’s daughter, searching a massive space station where one deadly xenomorph lurks. Unlike other Alien games, you’ll have no real weapons or HUD. See strange slithering silhouette in the distance, then pull up that motion-tracker…anything? Yes. YES? SHIT! Go craft something to distract that bitch while you torch-cut a hole through that locked door.
Not much about the story or other gameplay mechanics is known until E3, but after viewing the three videos, Alien: Isolation appears to be the Alien game I’ve always wanted.
Alien: Isolation will be released later this year on PC, Xbox 360, Xbox ONE, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 3.
