Firefox gets Unreal Engine

Firefox Meets Epic’s Unreal Engine

Mozilla just released the latest (that would be the 22nd, for those counting at home) version of Firefox. In the browser now is full, complete, and official support for Epic’s Unreal Engine 3.  Epic is calling it a “supercharged subset of JavaScript.”

The demo above showcases what just some of what can be done with Unreal Engine 3 JavaScript, using Emscripten. In a matter of days after the reveal Epic had their Citadel demo and “Sanctuary” from Unreal Tournament 3 up and running.  We’re pretty impressed by what the new browser can do!
