Wii U: Wii Party U Looks To Use Gamepad Creatively

The Wii U Will Eventually Get Its Party On with Wii Party U

I have to admit to being a little shocked that Nintendo hasn’t delivered a Wii Party U game yet.  It’s getting a little far into the system’s lifecycle, as party games help sell the features of a console. Traditionally, these games tend to have a truckload of mini games.  Each of those games typically shows off some clever idea for using the unique controller of the system it’s developed for.  As such it can help players and other developers see some of the creative ideas Nintendo itself has dreamed up for using the controller effectively. We’re hoping for some interesting uses of the gamepad.  The game was originally announced for this summer.  However, it’s now been pushed back to some unknown future date October 2013. Hopefully that’s not a bad sign. Unfortunately, there’s no trailer available yet.  However, you can check out this lovely reference image. Click the link above to check out screenshots via Nintendo.
