Nintendo 3DS: Pokémon X and Y in October

Nintendo’s Pokémon Live On, Evolve Again, in Pokemon X and Y

Okay, so I’m running a little late this morning. All the excitement of last night kept me up way past my bedtime, I guess. The bright side is I woke up to Nintendo Direct! I can’t say I know much about the series, save this: there are a ton of Pokémon games, Call of Duty wishes it could sell as many units, and Nintendo has made a buttload of cash from the franchise. On October 12th, they’ll begin printing even more money when Pokémon X and Y come to Nintendo’s 3DS system. Check out the trailer, then read after for some extra deets.

So, apparently there will now be an 18th type, called Fairy, which are said to be excellent versus Dragon type. For fans of the series this is no doubt some exciting news, as it’s the first time in 10 years that a new type has come to the series. A blurb from the website gives a little more insight into just what’s going on with the new type in Pokemon X and Y:Pokemon Kalos Region

When the very first Pokémon games launched, there were 15 Pokémon types. Then Dark and Steel types made their debut with the arrival of Pokémon Gold Version and Pokémon Silver Version.

Now, more than 10 years later, a new chapter in Pokémon battling history is about to unfold with the Fairy type! You’ve already met the first Fairy-type Pokémon…Sylveon!

There are also Pokémon from previous games that will be reclassified as Fairy-type Pokémon. They may look the same, but the strategies you’ll choose and the way you use these Pokémon in battle will be unlike ever before!

From the looks of things, fans have a lot to be excited about come this October when Pokemon X and Y comes out. For more info, check out the Pokémon X Y website!
