Endeavour at LAX
Pictures and videos of the Endeavour space shuttle as seen at LAX – an inside look!
On September 21st, the Space Shuttle Endeavour made its final landing. Many of you probably saw it high above and were hoping for a closer look. Well, due to some connections at LAX, we’ve got it! See pictures of Endeavour close up and a video of the landing from the runway after the jump!
United Airlines has one of the largest hangers at LAX. Endeavour is being stored their before it’s “final trip” to the California Science Center. Last weekend, we were able to go inside and take a closer look.
- Then we proceeded slowly clockwise around the spaceship. One neat thing my stepfather and I noticed is that every single piece of the ship is labeled. There was white type on the black portions, and very small black and gray type on the white portions.
- The Endeavour from the side.

The underside of the ship, showing the dollies it will be transported on through the streets of Los Angeles.

I thought it was interesting that the United States flag is backwards on this side. Also, underneath, you can catch a glimpse of a 757 for size comparison.
And in case you didn’t see Endeavour when it landed at LAX, here is a video taken from the north side of Runway 24-L
