Scott Pilgrim Game : Reception Remix

What happens when your nerdy friends / Scott Pilgrim fans get married.

Recently, a friend of mine from college, Pearl, got married.  Her husband, Simon, and his friends got together and decided to recreate a version of the  Scott Pilgrim video game, animating both Simon and Pearl into the game.  The pair both work at Konami and are big Scott Pilgrim fans.  You can see the results here.
The almost four minute video follows Pearl and Simon in a limo as they travel through San Fransisco to the Tenderloin.  When they stop for a snack, fighting ensues.  While ninjas and zombies may not be native to the Tenderloin, they certainly fit the game.  As would be expected of a pair of well-trained, newlyweds, they quickly kill their opponents in a set of combo moves that rains coins all around them, funding their honeymoon.

As for the technical stuff, all of the sprites were manually ripped or drawn.  The video was put together using Aftereffects and was a team effort.  While we don’t know how many hours were spent creating this wedding surprise, we’re guessing it’s more than goes into the typical reception speech.

Congrats again, Pearl and Simon!

Thanks to Kotaku for posting the video.
