And holy freaking crap that’s a big-ass list of songs available on the service, too! Beyond just being able to drop your tracks on the Wii’s internal storage (the press release says ‘hard drive’, but come on, all us Nerds know it’s FLASH memory, not a hard drive!) you can also save them out to SD cards and access them straight from the game with no need to manually exit and copy files. Why in this day and age that sounds like an impressive feat, I have no freaking clue.

RockBand® Music Store is now live for the Wiihome videogame console
from Nintendo.
Starting today there are 50 Rock Band Wii tracks available for download in
the Rock Band Music Store, including the 20 free Rock Band 2 DLC tracks and
30 additional songs for purchase already released asdownloadable content
for other console versions. Each purchasable track will be available for
200 Wii Points.

Wii fanscan expect a rollout of the previously released downloadable
content every weekuntil the entire back catalogue of more than 500 songs is
available. In addition, the regularly scheduled futureDLC releases for
other consoles will also be available for Rock Band 2 Wiiowners starting in
February. Weekly RockBand downloadable content releases are already
available for the Xbox360® video game and entertainment system from
Microsoft and PLAYSTATION®3computer entertainment system.
Rock Band downloadable content is playable and integrated intosetlists in
all game modes. In order toplay downloadable content for head-to-head
matches or multiplayer online, allplayers must own the same downloadable
track.
Rock Band downloadable content for Wii isavailable for purchase through
the in-game Rock Band MusicStore using Wii Points that must be purchased
outside the game through theWii Shop Channel. In addition to thestorage
space on the Wii hard drive, players can use an SD card to storeadditional
tracks which then will stream directly to the game for seamlessplay. As
previously announced, SanDiskwill release an official 2GB Rock Band 2 SD
card that will allowplayers to store more than 75 downloadable tracks. The
official 2GB SanDisk RockBand 2 SD card will be available this Spring. For
